I’m always fascinated by “What’s In My Bag” posts on every social media platform! It’s always neat to see what all things that people carry around with them daily. I feel like the stuff we carry inside our bags is almost as unique as we are as people. No two bag contents are the same! And I think that it gives a cool, unique insight on people’s personal lives and metal workings, just by seeing what’s in their bags.

The reason I wanted to go ahead an d do this now, is because I just ordered this new bag to accommodate my work life and my mom life. I didn’t want it to have time to get loaded down with “junk” from every day life. I’ve been carrying this bag for a couple weeks now and this is usually what I carry with me daily (that is, in the event, I’m allowed to go anywhere during quarantine/social distancing).
The bag I use is a SOCKO Convertible Laptop Bag. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LXFU2NX?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_dt_b_product_details
It is 17.3″. It is advertised that I can be worn/carried three ways, but I prefer the backpack option. I decided to get this bag because my husband got me a new laptop for my birthday and I didn’t have a bag that could fit it properly. I’m so happy with the way that my computer fits in this bag. There is no struggle to get it in or out of the bag. And It’s got a Velcro strap to help secure it inside the pocket. There are many small organizational pockets inside the main pocket as well. This helps me keep my ADHD from just throwing everything into a black hole and hoping for the best. (The best never happens in this situation.) There are also multiple pockets on the outside that I love to use. The top pocket I use for things like diapers, or bulky diaper bag extras, as well as my sunglasses case. Then I use the zipper pouch on the front of that top pocket as my “purse” for lack of a better term. I throw receipts in there until I can get home and sort them, gift cards if I have them, lipstick, and any other small items that might go in a purse. Then that leaves the bottom pocket which is the absolute perfect size for a pack of baby wipes, and the zipper pouch on the front of that lower, smaller pocket is where I carry my wallet for easy access.
The first and main thing I carry inside my bag is my laptop. My husband gifted me a Dell Inspiron 3583, 15.6″ touchscreen laptop. This is the first laptop I’ve had or even needed in like a decade and I can tell you I’m absolutely obsessed with this thing! It has been really amazing! It’s got a big beautiful screen which is good for my bad vision. It’s got bigger keyboard and the keys are low to the keyboard. The key’s aren’t huge and they are are fairly close together, this is amazing for my hands. I have fibroyalgia and myofascial pain disorder. This greatly affects my ability to use my hands and fingers. I have trouble with dexterity in my hands and fingers, and I rarely have trouble pressing or reaching the keys. It is also touch screen which is another plus when your hands don’t work like they’re supposed to. It is a pretty light weight laptop, especially compared to the owns I owned and carried a decade ago! I really don’t even notice the added weight once it’s inside my bag.
I carry my headphones in my bag so that I can edit or blog on the go. I have ADHD and the noise cancelling headphones are a tremendous help when it comes to getting distracted. The ones I have are Onikuma surround sound, PRO noise cancelling, gaming headphones. Now I am not a gamer and don’t really have any interest in being one, but because I’ve been having long term hearing and ear health issues, I sought out the opinion of some friends of mine that do play video games, on headphones versus earbuds. This is the best option for me, they are very comfortable to wear, and the sound quality is great. I never get tired of wearing them. The model I have has rainbow led lights on the ear pieces. This isn’t necessary and it’s optional, you don’t have to plug in the light usb. I just love the cute rainbow lights. There are other colors, and I’m sure there are some that aren’t lighted, but I wanted something cute! They also have a microphone that I can’t wait to use to add voice overs to videos.
I carry a black, white, and gold clipboard/legal pad. It’s where I keep up with my daily to do lists, and jot thoughts and ideas down on the go. It also comes in handy when the kids get restless out in public. I can give it to them and they color or draw in it. I love this little clipboard/legal pad cover because it’s simple, sleek, and motivational. It also reminds me to be my inner Beyoncé. It’s got the classy gold accents and of course a bee, with the text “Get Busy” underneath it.
My wallet is a Rebecca Minkoff wallet that I bought off of Poshmark. It’s a gray folding wallet. I just love a good Poshmark purchase.
Obviously being a mom of a potty training toddler, I have spare pullups and baby wipes. I might as well share the other kid things I have in my bag. I have a doll and comic sketch book here, but these change out by the day. It really just depends on what the kids are wanting to carry around for the day. These are very typical examples of what is in my bag though. The other kid items that might be in my bag, but where not in there when I took this photo, are a sippy cup for my 3 year old and my 6 year old’s Nintendo Switch. These are things that are often in my bag, but my kids usually want them out fairly quickly, so being home when this photo was taken, they weren’t in there.
Are there mom’s out there that don’t carry a planner? I don’t know how people live without a planner. I have my planner in my bag and with me at all times. This particular one is faux leather bound to keep my kids from accidentally breaking the spine and rings, like they have with so many other planners before. I keep track of my hair appointments for my salon, family doctor appointments, kid’s schedules, important work schedule things for my husband, Poshmark parties, videos, blog posts, and I mean any and everything else I need to know. I literally keep track of my entire life in my planner. This is the link to the one I have. https://www.ebay.com/itm/2020-Planner-Yearly-Weekly-Monthly-Daily-Planner-2020-2021-with-Calendar/283728111881 This one has monthly pages and weekly pages. I need both of those. I need to see the month in full to be able to see what’s coming up in the future. And I need the weekly section to break down the individual days, I take a lot of my notes in the individual days. I also keep my pen and pencil on the cover of my planner. This little pen holder is a strap I found in the Christian reading section of Books-A-Million. It is designed for going on a bible cover, but I find it so helpful in keeping up with pens and pencils on my planner.
The last thing that I always carry in my bag, is my medicine/makeup bag. The contents of this bag periodically change. I have to take medicine throughout the day so those go in there when I’m leaving out. I usually try to always keep saline nose spray for allergies, and hydrating eye drops. I also throw lipstick in there on occasion.
So, here is what is in my bag on a daily basis. I really hope I can keep this bag from filling up with junk. I feel like that is just a struggle of carrying a bag daily. We will see! I hope you enjoyed what’s in my bag! Let me know what you carry in your bag!
Stay home, stay safe, and wash your DANG hands!
