Working From Home While Distance Learning

Writer's picture: Lyndsie MooreLyndsie Moore

Many of us are working from home now. I always work from home, but now there are millions of people joining me in this endeavor. This is also being compounded by the fact that many of us are also distance learning our children. This is a whole new territory that no one knows exactly what to do. We are all making do, the best way we can.

I like to get the school work done first thing in the morning. We wake up and eat breakfast and then start school. Getting the “worst” part over with, I guess. This leaves our afternoons open for fun, work, or naps (because let’s face it, school is grueling for all of us right now). I’ve noticed that this added task of helping my kid get his school work done and turned in on time, does not give much time to do things like make social media posts, and get my blog posts written every single day. I am having to learn to let go of being a perfectionist that gets everything done everyday. I’m learning to be ok with missing a post if I can’t get to it.

I’m also learning how much I need to get accustomed to planning the week ahead before Monday. I need a little more time to get my plans executed! I also need to give myself a little more grace! I don’t need to be perfect! And neither do you! You just need keep working! We are going to get through this shit show of a year! We can do it!

Stay safe, stay rad, and wash your DANG hands!
