My All Time Favorite T.V. Show

We all have comfort shows that we watch. We can watch them over and over, and never get tired of them. I have a couple, but my absolute favorite show of all time is Criminal Minds. You guessed it, a crime drama! I know, I know! I am very predictable. It is what it is! Maybe I’ll be a private investigator in my next life, who knows!

Criminal Minds began in 2005, and it follows the FBI Behavioral Analysis Unit out of Quantico Virginia. Creator Jeff Davis creates a show that details “how the elite profilers analyze the nation’s most dangerous serial killers, and individual heinous criminals.” to quote IMDB.com.

There are 15 seasons. The characters call themselves a team. The team is full of lovable and relatable characters that are so easy to feel connected to. They start out as workmates, obviously but they grow beautifully into a family, all while being freaking badass and making being smart look cool!

I was so impacted by this show that I wanted to be a criminal psychologist in high school. I found out that I was not cut out for it, as gore makes me squeamish in real life! I also am afraid of guns, so that’s a big hurdle to overcome. So since I wasn’t ready to tackle those areas in the journey to become one I opted out of that line of work. But I have never quit having a great interest in the area. The psychology of it all is the part that fascinates me the most and this is a huge tool that the team uses to build their profile of the unsub (or unknown subject).

This is the first t.v. series that I remember exposing more than just the guns and violence part of crimes, but the “how” that goes into trying to catch the person once all the evidence is collected or while it is being collected. There may have been others before it but this is the one I remember, and it is such a great show that it literally shaped part of my life.

I can always go back to this show and never ever get tired of watching it! I will go on what my husband calls benders and start the series over all the way back at the pilot episode and watch up until the current season airing on Netflix. I’m sure I only need to do it a coupe of more times before I can start quoting the episodes right along with the characters as they recite their lines! I highly recommend this show if by some chance that you’ve been living under a rock since 2005 and missed out on this piece of perfection, or maybe you just forgot about it!

Stay safe, stay rad, and wash your DANG hands!
