I have two businesses, a blog, and a half-hearted YouTube channel, that I run out of my home. So in this post I will only be discussing my “Must Haves” for my ecommerce business and my blog workspace. I also have chronic illnesses and mental illnesses that effect my work spaces.
A comfortable chair or my bed
A blanket
Noise cancelling headphones
Outside of these things, I’m not really hard to please. I need a comfortable chair (or my bed), because I have two chronic pain disorders. I really can’t sit in chairs that are hard, or narrow. My hips are one of my pain points and I usually have to either prop my feet up or pull my feet up in the seat: criss-cross apple sauce style. I also have to have lots of back support for the same reasons.
I have to have a blanket, because my medications make me feel cold all the time. I wear a hoodie all year round. And I just really feel most comfortable with a blanket. I usually just cover my legs and feet. I concentrate better when I’m not freezing.
And I cannot get much serious work done without my noise cancelling headphones. I use over the ear gaming headphones. I have adhd and it helps me cancel out auxiliary noises. This helps me focus on what I’m doing. And keeps me into the task at hand. I have hearing loss as well so even if I don’t listen to music or a YouTube video they help protect my hearing as it is.
