Getting Ready For Fall 2020

Writer's picture: Lyndsie MooreLyndsie Moore

Fall is seriously a huge deal in my family. Everyone is always trying to plan the last outdoor things we can do before it gets cold. Although here in Tennessee, fall doesn’t really have the same temps as it does everywhere. Here is Tennessee fall means you just sweat yourself to death while you wear your favorite pumpkin spice, basic bish outfits. I mean we gotta look cute for the ‘gram! Who cares if we’re sweating in the 100 degree fall weather; all that matters is that we look good, right?

I joke but it’s true. Now that September is here it’s like we’ve gotten the ok to break out our fall clothes; who cares that it’s still hot and humid here! Anyway, what goes best with our cute flannels, scarves, and boots? Pumpkin patches and corn mazes! Obviously! Although I’m not sure how any of this is going to work this year. Considering that we are still very much is the middle of a global pandemic; I’m not sure that these things will be offered in many places this year. On the other hand, they just might be happening because these types of events are outdoor events. So maybe we will still be able to grab our favorite fall drinks and put on our most festive fall masks and hit all the usual fall scenes. I feel that if these events are actually open this year there will definitely be rules about wearing masks, for good reason.

My advice is that if you are going to attend outdoor events this fall, WEAR YOUR DAMN MASK! But also I’ll be encouraging my family and friends to do what I kind of do for myself: use my mask as a fashion accessory. Embrace it. If we are going to have to wear them, let’s at least have a little fun with it. Just get some coordinating masks that go with your outfit; or even match masks with your boo! Those pictures that you’re going to be posting to Instagram with still be super cute with the masks on! If you are one of those mamas that makes her kids all wear those matchy-matchy outfits, girl this is your chance! Do your fall best!

I know that fall fun is going to look different this year and that’s just a part of life right now. But we all just need to do our best to embrace it! Pay attention to your health now that flu season is just around the corner. Social distance yourself and your family. Have the most fun that we are allowed to safely have this fall. Document it all. Post is to social media! Let everyone see your style! And sip on your PSL to your little hearts content; if that’s your thing! (I’m more of an apple cider girl but do you boo!)

Stay safe, stay rad, and wash your DANG hands!
