I’ll let you guys be the ultimate judge of this, but I think I did a pretty dang good job! I also want to do this challenge again! It was fun to do! I also think I want to try turning ugly, thrift store clothes into a whole cute Instagram-able outfit!
So here was the challenge, as you can tell from the title; Can I make and ugly thrift store top cute? My husband and I were out sourcing for inventory for my reselling business, way, way back before the world ended, and I came across this top. It’s a vintage 80s/90s era dress top. It looks to be something meant to be worn with a business suit or professional skirt. It’s multicolored, and what my mother would have called LOUD! It’s got squares, it’s got many colors, it’s got different colored polka dots, it’s got shoulder pads.
After my husband and I got a good laugh out of the shirt and I kept thinking about how cute this would look styled right on Instagram. So obviously I bought it! And it took me a few months to figure out how I wanted to style it, but I finally did! I cut out the shoulder pads; sister’s got shoulders like a linebacker! Tucked the shirt into some high waisted jeans, and cuffed the jeans. I added some light tan booties and rolled the sleeves up a tad and viola! I thought it was cute, I felt cute, and I actually got a few compliments from people out, while wearing it!

Vintage blouse, high waisted jeans, booties, and a high half pony had me ready to go!
What do you think? How did I do? Should I continue this as a series? Should this become a series I do on YouTube?
Stay safe, stay rad, and wash your DANG hands!
